Asked of me: Why did Tesla’s stock crash on April 26, 2022?

Leading up to the 26th Elon Musk had made an offer to buy Twitter outright. Upon the Twitter board accepting that offer on April 25th, investors gained more clarity on how Musk intended to finance the buyout. It included placing a significant number of TSLA shares as collateral to secure the financing, thereby introducing uncertainty to TSLA shareholders and removing the confidence they had in Musk keeping his shares off the open market.
